Week One

So I conclude this week feeling not all that positive about training...I'm doing a zillion things positive, and yet I don't feel all that positive.

Monday, 2 November 2009
Walked 2 blocks in AM (changing from time to distance, because I have no idea how long it really takes). No weights; right shoulder continues to be a problem.
No other activity; ran errands after work.

Walked 2 blocks in AM. In the dark I might add -- BIG moon still out.
I "packed" to run w… Continue

So it begins. I'm excited for the challenge.

Week Zero

Monday, 26 October 2009
Walked 10 minutes in AM. No weights, there's something wrong with my right shoulder. Did stretch and balance exercises. Set out to run 2 miles (down to Atlantic and back). I ran about 1.5 miles and then walked a little, ran a little, walked a little, ran a little. There was slight foot pain in my right fo… Continue

Hard to believe that it's been nearly 21 weeks since I started running with Sole Runners...and here's the Long Beach Marathon day. Impossible to believe, if you know me at all, that I've been getting up at 5:45 AM on Saturdays EVERY WEEK the whole 21 weekends for the pleasure of running with a group. (OK, mostly walking for me, but the fact remains… Continue

Next week is the Marathon. I'm going to do the half; my goal is to run and walk in less than 3 hours, which will be PR. I'm currently thinking that I'm going to walk to the 11 mile marker, then the route turns off the beach path and up Ocean.

Finished Week Two of the Whole Body Cleanse. Learned many things - not the least of which is that orange juice/lemon juice/apple juice, garlic, ginger, cayanne, salt, and 2 tablespoons of oil is not all that bad as a breakfast drink. Second - or really par… Continue
