I started running because of my friend who was unfortunately killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. We were always going to run a marathon together. I run for her. She is my angel who watches over me everytime I put on my running shoes.
Favorite Races:
So far O.C. Marathon
Personal Records (PR's):
I don't have records. I run for fun!
Favorite Place to Train:
From Torrance Beach to Redondo Beach early in the morning just as the sun is rising. It is just so beautiful and inspiring.
Completed Races:
*OC 1/2 Marathon *City of Angels 1/2 Marathon *Los Angeles Marathon
Running Goals:
To be the best runner I can be
Post run indulgance:
Ice Cream!!!
Other sports I like to do:
I love all sports. I love to watch and play. My major is exercise and sports science.
What I'm reading:
I'm reading a nutritional textbook and kinisology of the workout machines for the gym.
I'm trying to find my motivation or drive to run again. Lately is beginning to become inconsistent and blah. I want to find some way to find my love for running again. Any suggestions?

Hello Michelle,
Good luck with your run. Ya, Saturday mornings are tough for me to get off work. Look forward to "running" into you soon. Keep in touch.

Hey Michelle! We meet at the HB Pier (downstairs under the pier) on Tue & Thurs at 6pm. Let us know if you plan to come so we can keep an eye out for you. Another training group meets there too. There's usually 4 - 8 of us BeachRunners there. We'd love to have you join us!
I've found this little video really helpful when I need motivation. I've watched it dozens of times, and never get tired. If you haven't read his book, it great too.

Don't feel too bad. We all lose our "MoJo" once in a while. I lost mine not long ago and I'm finally getting it back. I just had to back off for a while and find other things that kept me active so I wasn't just "sitting around." Before I knew it, I began running again. I decided to run fewer times a week. That way, I didn't feel like I was commited to running every other day. It took a few months, but when the MoJo comes back, it comes back bigger and better. Enjoy this time to explore new things. Running is always there. As are we. Good luck!
I agree w. Uncle Sam...I know I was being super strict with myself...Not missing workouts...being very mindful of what I ate...just trying to be disciplined to get myself back on track..Well I started having knee problems & wasn't feeling so hot...so I finally said the heck w. it...told myself to ease up...and do what Steve & Gary always tell us...RELAX!!...what a concept...Although you think you're relaxing while running you can still get over involved with the process...Anyways whataya know...I'm feeling pretty darned good now... I even skipped the 3 hr run to do the Nike Rerun Remix with a friend not on the team for fun...And it was a blast...I'm so glad I broke up the training for myself...I figure I'll make up the 3 hr run this weekend...you really gotta break things up...Try something new w your routine...go to the batting cages, a hike, bike ride or have brunch with a friend after the runs...and when all else fails Play hookie :) Hang in there...WE ARE SO CLOSE!!!
