So it begins. I'm excited for the challenge.

Walked 10 minutes in AM. No weights, there's something wrong with my right shoulder. Did stretch and balance exercises. Set out to run 2 miles (down to Atlantic and back). I ran about 1.5 miles and then walked a little, ran a little, walked a little, ran a little. There was slight foot pain in my right foot at the point where the tendon joins the bone. Most limiting was tightness in my chest -- no wind. My legs were generally OK.

Walked 10 minutes in AM, seriously cold. Did stretch and balance exercises. Yoga in the PM.
It dawned on me today that I am SEROUSLY allergic to something -- probably milk. My lips are very chapped.

Did not walk in AM (it was cold and I went back to bed). Promised self to walk before class @ UCI. Stretch and balance exercises. Walked 20 minutes before class at UCI.

Did not walk in AM (had to be at work early - if I don't walk, I can still get up at the same time - this occurs every other week). Drove to Pasadena in a mis-connect with Steve. Good, long stretch and balance. Ran 3 miles around the Rose Bowl. Pretty pleased with myself. I had no pain and no tiredness in legs -- breath continued to be the pacing issue. I tried, on the downhill, to lean forward into the "fall" and I did run faster. Unfortunately, I had to poop so badly that I was balancing that urge with running.
Friday, 30 october
Walked 10 minutes in AM. Cold and DARK.
Went to Ales for foot review. He suggested taht after I see him in Friday afternoons that I NOT run, but rather walk. On Fridays when I run with Steve first, this isn't an issue.

First day of new Sole Runner season. Very excited. It was VERY diffrent coming back to the group rather than being new. Lots of people (ok, more than one) came over and said hello in one way or another. While I always say I don't want to run with a group -- either I want to run with this group, or I'm wrong about me and groups.
It took me about 40 minutes to drive over. I took the 405 to the 110 down to Gaffey then down to the park. Next time I'll try over the bridge.
Did Chi running lesson. Then ran with middle group (at the very back) for 30 minutes. It was HARD running up hill. I know this will be good for me. Which doesn't make it any less hard initially.
But BEAUTIFUL. It was stinkin' fabulous, running along the ocean. It was warm in the sun and cold in the shade. The initial run is all uphill. That was hard. Then coming back I ran most of the walk and walked a couple of blocks.
Joann introduced herself and ran and walked with me. OMG. I ran with somebody. I am a complete pod person! I don't KNOW what to think about this!
I booked the day too full, and could not stay for yoga. (Steve said the funniest thing..."that some people are, like, yoga-schmoga, until they find out how much it helps their running..." I LOVE that yoga-schmoga crack.) I drove directly to acupuncture, where I had GREAT energy. I didn't sleep soundly, but drifted in and out of sleep while I had tingle all over my body. Dr. Li says that's the sign of good energy movement -- the not sound asleep and the tingle.
Drove home and then went to yoga. Sometimes, on Saturday, I don't bring much to yoga at the end of the day. Today was one of those days. First of all, I've got this shoulder problem that limits mobility. Second of all, I was pooped. At the end, tho, talking to Allen, he suggested I try coconut milk in coffee.
So I went over to Trader Joe's and bought soy, almond, and coconut milks to try in coffee. It was very late, like 5 minutes before closing. They had been sampling big bites of different cakes as a Halloween treat -- I ate one of each while in store. BUT, in putting fudge cake in my mouth it dawned on me -- there's milk in here. Damn. I have think before I put things in my mouth.

Fall Back. I feel well rested. And the weather is mild.
Got up and went running/walking with Barbara and CICI and the dogs at Marina Park for an hour.
We agreed that we are morally superior AND that in future we'll run the peninsula because there's less dog futzing around hassle.
Went to the grocery hungry and bought sugar cookies on sale...which I came home and froze, but ate a zillion in the bagging and freezing.
Dinner with Barbara and Lark...got a fabulous eggplant casserole recipie that I came right home and made!
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was in Target every night buying summer dresses (off the clearance rack) for the Parrothead Convention next weekend in Key West!
