Finished first week of full body cleanse. It's like a three ring circus getting out the door every morning -- so much prep work! I've lost 3 pounds. This week moved from fresh foods with protein on top (chicken, fish, tofu) to all veggie. The goal in the coming week is all raw foods, but you can add a cooked veggie soup in the PM if it makes the week better.
The diet "thing" is food combining. At the moment, I'm just eating what comes next on the menu without really thinking about anything else.
Monday, 21 September - Walked 10 minutes in AM with weights. (New weights. Bought at a garage sale last Saturday.) Saw Ales for great physical manipulation in the PM. Epson soak and iceing feet after that.
Tuesday, 22 September - Walked 10 minutes in AM with weights. Yoga in PM.
Wednesday, 23 September - Walked 10 minutes in AM with weights. Completely dark when I go out in the mornings, now. UCI and leg/foot massage in PM.
Thursday, 24 September - Walked in AM with weights. Yoga in PM - very challenging.
Friday, 25 September - No walking in AM, slept in. Went to Ales and Arnette in the morning.
Saturday, 26 September - Ran 60 minutes. Actually, had to stop for the bathroom twice and walked at least three other minutes of the period. Got to 1/2 way down Bay Shore before turning around. I'm doing two things at once...increasing my time and increasing the number of foot-falls per minute. I upped the metronome to 59 triplets this week. I was really tired at the end.
In the PM went to dinner at Ann Lucas' house in Brentwood with the University of Redlands. Well, actually, missed dinner because we didn't leave until late and I thought it was canapes and drinks, when it turned out to be light dinner. Anyway, Lucas' grandfather founded the Carnation company - so they are uber rich. So rich, in fact, that they bought the house next door and tore it down. They have a HUGE lot, grassy and talled-hedged, with "art" sprinkled around. As you gaze around you wonder how people can ammass such wealth. (Or I did, until I found out about the Carnation connection.) Just untold wealth. And it's hers. She married Lucas and he eventually took over the company from Ann's father. (I wonder if their kids are running the company, now?) When we left Long Beach it was bout 90 and in Brentwood it was foggy and cold - about 68.
Anyway, after dinner we drove through Brentwood to PCH and then over to the Getty Villa for a play. The employees at the Getty are astonishing polite and helpful. They, in fact, approach you to be of service, rather than you having to look for help. The plan was DREADFUL, but the setting lovely. Except, after sitting for 85 minutes in the cold fog on marble seats wth no back (thick cushions to sit on) one is almost too stiff to walk.
I had a good time, but I wouldn't go again. Well, maybe in the middle of the summer. It would be nice to be out there when it was warm (and the play was bearable).
Sunday, 27 September - rested
